Delete Your Account & Data

Important Notice

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including profile information, photos, matches, and messages, will be permanently removed from our systems.

What Gets Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • Your profile information and bio
  • All uploaded photos and images
  • Your answers to compatibility questions
  • Match history and connections
  • All messages and conversations
  • Your email address and contact information
  • Location data
  • Account preferences and settings
  • Any subscription or payment information

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: Email Request

Send an email to our support team requesting account deletion:

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Include:

  • Your registered email address
  • Confirmation that you want to delete your account
  • Optional: Reason for leaving (helps us improve)

We'll process your request within 24-48 hours and send you a confirmation email.

Method 2: In-App Deletion (Coming Soon)

Once the Align app launches, you'll be able to delete your account directly from within the app:

  1. Open the Align app
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Select "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your decision
  5. Your account will be deleted immediately

We receive your deletion request via email or in-app.

We verify your identity to protect your account (within 24 hours).

Data Deletion

All your personal data is permanently deleted from our systems (within 7 working days).

You receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

What Happens After Deletion

  • Your profile will immediately disappear from the app for other users
  • All your personal data will be permanently deleted within 7 working days
  • You will no longer receive any emails or notifications from Align
  • Any active subscriptions will be cancelled (refunds subject to our refund policy)
  • You can create a new account in the future, but your old data cannot be recovered

Data Retention Exceptions

In limited cases, we may retain certain data for legal or regulatory purposes:

  • Transaction records required for tax or accounting purposes (up to 7 years)
  • Information needed to comply with legal obligations or court orders
  • Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you personally

Alternatives to Deletion

If you're not ready to permanently delete your account, consider these alternatives:

Pause Your Account

Temporarily hide your profile without losing your data (feature coming soon).

Update Privacy Settings

Control who can see your profile and what information is visible.
